Microneedling (also known as skin needling or collagen induction therapy) reduces acne scarring, stretch marks, fine lines, pigmentation, enlarged pores and scarring to deliver overall skin rejuvenation.
Fine needles are used to create hundreds of microscopic puncture wounds in the top layer of the skin. Used alongside topical local anaesthetic this treatment is virtually painless with incredible results!
Micro injuries to the skin stimulate the body’s natural wound healing processes. This encourages cell turnover and increased collagen and elastin production.
We use a DermaPen FNS which actively pulls needles out of the skin. The pen is able to glide over the skin without catching. This causes less surface trauma, whilst maintaining maximal results.
Fine lines and wrinkles on the face can be visibly reduced, as microneedling triggers collagen production
Can help to fade dark patches such as pigmentation due to sun damage or ageing
The Derma FNS (Fractional Needling System) is a motorised pen device which offers a number of advantages to standard microneedling. It is more comfortable, effective, efficient and precise. It also causes less trauma to the skin, so any downtime and recovery are shorter.
This unique electronic mechanism allows Dr Hazel to control treatment intensity to best suit your needs.
A solution called Tebiskin® PLC is also applied to the skin. This contains MSM, Vitamin C, plant glycosides and other active nourishing and protective ingredients to soothe the skin, reduce redness, protect the skin from environmental stress and restore skin barrier function.
The above treatment but with the addition of Teoxane’s RHA® Skin Booster at the end of the procedure.
This powerful skin booster can be applied over the skin after micro-needling and does not have to be injected. This topical skin booster contains a proprietary mix of both high concentration cross-linked and free hyaluronic acid (HA). The free HA is able to diffuse into the skin via the created channels and trap water in the skin, increasing radiance and hydration. Its presence also facilitates healthy collagen and elastin production.
There is a Boosted Dermo-Restructuring Complex (DRC) which contains 14 nutrients that are essential for the skin – eight amino acids, three antioxidants, two minerals (copper and zinc), and Vitamin B6. The concentrations of these in Teoxane’s RHA® skin booster are over 100 times more than in other cosmeceuticals currently available. The addition of this aids protection, nutrition, hydration and renewal of skin, maximising the results from microneedling alone.
EnerPeel® MA and micro-needling combined is very popular, consisting of two separate treatments completed one after the other; the EnerPeel® MA first followed by the needling.
Combining the two together enables you to target both the visual and deep structural issues needed for visually smoother, and structurally tighter, firmer, and smoother skin.
The results are stunning air-brushed skin.
A comprehensive consultation will take place before treatment. Your photographs, complete medical history and consent for treatment will be taken. Desires and expectations will be discussed. Depending on the skin condition being treated you may be asked to use preparatory creams for 2-4 weeks prior to your microneedling. This will all be discussed with you at your consultation.
The skin will be thoroughly cleaned and numbing cream applied. After 20 minutes the numbing cream will be removed with a preparatory wipe. A thin layer of anti-redness, lipid and moisture control solution (Tebiskin® PLC) is applied to skin and is used as a glide medium. The Derma FNS pen is then applied to the treatment area using a specific technique.
After treatment, further creams and serums may be applied, depending on the skin condition being treated. To enhance the effect of microneedling the treatment may be combined with Teoxane’s RHA® topical skin booster or with Enerpeel® MA peel. Medical grade SPF 50 cream will be applied and you will be advised to use this and the Tebiskin® PLC for 7 days afterwards.
