Dermal fillers: restore lost volume and smooth out those unwanted facial lines and wrinkles to give your face a refreshed, natural look
As we get older, visible signs of ageing frequently occur because of two fundamental changes: reduction in subcutaneous fat and changes to the bony support of the skull. ‘Dermal fillers’ is a term that comprises a collection of products used to restore volume under the skin, returning support and lift to the skin as well as improving hydration and texture.
Dr Hazel uses only premium HA (hyaluronic acid) fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring component in our skin, providing ‘bounce’ and its water-retaining property. As we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin reduces, so the skin loses its volume. Dermal fillers can be used to give a more youthful appearance by restoring volume and fullness. Lips, cheeks and many other areas may also be enhanced, using your natural features and contours.
Dr Hazel will carefully select the correct dermal filler for you, which will vary according to age, skin type, and preferred outcome. Dr Hazel always chooses premium hyaluronic acid filler with cross-linked technology. This natural biodegradable gel pumps out lines and reproduces facial fullness, giving you an instantly more youthful and radiant look. The area treated, as well as the density and type of filler used, will affect the duration of results, ranging from 4-12 months for lip enhancements and 9-18 months for cheek enhancements.
A comprehensive consultation will take place before treatment.
Your photographs, complete medical history and consent for treatment will be taken. Desires and expectations will be discussed. Dr Hazel can use a topical numbing cream if required. However, this is not necessary as the procedure is generally well-tolerated (this takes an additional 20 minutes).
Your skin will be cleaned prior to treatment. After injecting the filler under the skin, the area is massaged to smooth and mould the filler.
